WHAT IS N.L.P.?

NLP has been called the “new technology of achievement” and is said to be the greatest contribution to the behavioral sciences in the last 30 years. It is a technology for improving communication and the study of human excellence. NLP was born when a linguist called John Grinder and a mathematician called Richard Bandler asked themselves a simple yet fascinating question:

“What is it that makes the difference between somebody who is merely competent at any given skill and somebody who excels at the same skill?”

People typically answer that question in one of two ways. Either that some people have natural gifts and talents for a particular skill, or practice and experience is what really counts. NLP side-steps these two answers not by focusing on the past training between people with different abilities, but on the present. It enables a competent person to turn their old performance into one of excellence. NLP is a practical application of how people think. Described as “software for your brain,” it takes you to the root of understanding behavior and allows you to automatically tap into the experiences you want to have.

NLP proposes that there are three elements to behavior:

1. External Behavior – what a person actually says and does.
2. Internal Behavior – what a person thinks and how they interpret it.
3. Internal States – how a person processes their feelings.

BENEFITS OF NLP:

  • How would you like to have more control over your emotional states and be able to easily change your attitude and perspective?
  • How would you like to learn the success skills of “experts,” then consciously and unconsciously reproduce that expert behavior in your own life with the same results?
  • Would you like to be able to walk up to absolutely anyone and create a deep sense of rapport before you actually say anything?
  • Would you enjoy being able to set up and close sales in less time, generate more automatic referrals and have a higher close ratio without buyer’s remorse?
  • Would you like to know how to motivate yourself and others using the most advanced persuasion techniques available?

If you answered YES to any of these questions then NLP is a direction for you to follow. NLP can help you maximize success, generate new patterns of communication, increase prosperity and gain greater perspective of modeling excellence in the world.
